Poly9 aimed to elevate its E-commerce platform by integrating 3D animations into product listings for a more immersive shopping experience. This involved harnessing technologies like NodeJS and MeteorJS. Additionally, we introduced Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) functionalities. AR allowed users to visualize products in their real environment through their device's camera, like previewing furniture placement in a living room. VR enabled customers to explore a virtual store as if physically present.
The challenge was ensuring seamless functionality across various devices and web browsers while maintaining realistic 3D animations. To achieve this, we leveraged NodeJS and MeteorJS for real-time capabilities, employed WebGL for creating lifelike 3D models, and rigorously tested compatibility across different devices and browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. The result was a captivating and user-friendly shopping experience.
